Serrapeptase is popular for its amazing health benefits and the thousands of happy people who improved their conditions are testament to this. As a naturally occurring enzyme, it is able to dissolve and safely eliminate inflammation from within the body.
Serrapeptase has benefits that are far reaching and can improve a wide variety of health conditions. Amazingly, it covers everything from lung health, heart health to supporting the cardiovascular system. In addition, it can also bring relief for joint pain.
This powerful enzyme is so beneficial for relieving health problems. However, not many reports show its benefits. Moreover, a number of myths also emerged surrounding ‘The Miracle Enzyme”. We therefore want to set the record straight by separating the myths from the reality.
Myth 1: Serrapeptase can cause stomach upset
If you already have an existing digestive system imbalance, this could be the real reason behind this. Thus, you might experience some stomach upset upon taking a dose. Alternatively, it could sometimes be as a result of toxin release. This enzyme itself doesn’t directly cause stomach upsets or sickness.
Myth 2: Serrapeptase will interact with medications or nutritional supplements
It does not directly impact the effectiveness of medicines or nutritional supplements. Thus, it is safe to take with any form of medication or supplements.
Myth 3: Serrapeptase can eat through non-organic tissue
This enzyme only works within living organisms to relieve inflammation, dead scar tissue and unwanted proteins. In addition, it dissolves and then safely eliminates it via the body’s organs such as the kidneys or liver. Therefore, implanted materials are not affected, such as grafted tissues from human tissue or animals. Moreover, living tissue remains untouched.
Myth 4: Serrapeptase is not suitable for vegans
Wrong – it is suitable for vegans. Traditionally coming from the silkworm intestine, it is now made on a fungal base within a laboratory.
Myth 5: Serrapeptase is a ‘blood thinner’
It dissolves non-living tissues such as fibrin, plaque, blood clots, cysts and inflammation in all forms – without harming living tissue. Therefore, it supports the cardiovascular system. In addition, it also helps the blood to flow more freely, but it does not have a ‘thinning action’.
Myth 6: Serrapeptase will dissolve healthy scar tissue that has formed to heal a wound
Serrapeptase will only go after excess (exogenous) scar tissue. Exogenous means that the fibrous tissue is not necessary and doesn’t belong in your body. Endogenous means that it is a needed fibrous tissue. Serrapeptase can tell the difference. Thus, it only goes after the exogenous fibrous tissue.
We hope these help to answer any myths you may have about this enzyme and how it works within the body. If you’d like to learn more about the role of Serrapeptase in providing effective pain relief, please take a look at the recommendations below.

I have a uterine polyp – will Serrapepetase help dissolve it?
Hi Dee, A polyp in the uterus is an overgrowth of tissue that arises from the endometrium – the uterine lining. This tissue is expelled during the menstrual cycle. After a period, the endometrium regenerates rapidly under the influence of hormones. Polyps occur in areas where the lining grows in excess. Uterine polyps are oval or round, they remain attached to the uterine wall by a large base or a thin stalk. Hormonal factors appear to play a role in uterine polyps. Uterine polyps are estrogen-sensitive, meaning they grow in response to circulating estrogen.
To help with uterine polyps we would recommend the following protocol, as advised for endometriosis. It is working on circulation and inflammation in the system, the immune system as well as hormonal balance: https://goodhealthhelpdesk.com/index.php?/HelpDeskDirect/Knowledgebase/Article/View/1947/106/endometriosis-health-plan
We also have a Endometriosis/Fibroids ebook you can download: http://www.naturallyhealthynews.com/free-books/
Serrapeptase is part of the protocol to help clear inflammation and dead tissues, but works best as part of a full plan.

Hi, does serrapeptase help destroy the protective lipid coating of viruses in the body?
Hi Dave, viruses are surrounded by a lipid bilayer membrane containing proteins or glycoproteins which act as a protective layer keeping the virus alive and active. Proteolytic enzymes such as serrapeptase and proteases can help to disrupt this layer, and can attack the ‘bad’ proteins protecting the virus. This then makes it easier for anti-viral herbs or nutrients to reach the target virus. Plus enzymes also assist in the process by strengthening the body’s own immune system and cleansing the blood.
What about gallbladder polyps? Thanks!
Yes we would recommend serrapepetase as it can help with the inflammation that contributes to polys formation, as well as to try and reduce the size of the polyps itself.
