Q: Hello Robert,

I have the shingles on my face and am so worried it might leave me scarred. Can you please suggest anything to perhaps prevent it and to help it get better. The doctor prescribed me some tablets called Aciclovir, but they make me feel sick and sleepy. But I know I must take them to prevent any sores going on my eyes.

I hope you can help.

Kathy

A: Kathy,

Shingles is a virus and they are the most difficult to deal with. Diet and stress are the things that you must keep under control all of your life to keep them out of your system.

The true secret to a strong immune system is to steer clear of carbs, high sugar foods/drinks and processed foods and consuming really healthy foods. Adequately feeding your immune system boosts its self-defense ability. You can go out and purchase a high dose supplement such as OptiZinc (for better absorption). The beteter way is taking 6 Oysters (fresh or canned) as this delivers a super dose of the healthiest form.

The easiest way to eat healthy until you sort your menu is just make smoothies from really healthy foods. An example is: kale, brocollii, avocado, chia seed, ginger, fresh garlic, hemp protein, apple, blueberries or cherries.

A shortage of zinc is a known factor in viral problems and I recommend large supplementation until clear. You can also try a topical zinc cream.

Zinc:

While increasing the production of white blood cells that fight infection this essential mineral boost the immune system and helps the white blood cells fight more aggressively. Zinc helps white cells release more antibodies and also increases killer cells that fight against cancer. Supplements exhibited slow the growth of cancer.

Zinc increases the number of infection-fighting T-cells, especially in elderly people who are often deficient in zinc, and whose immune system often weakens with age. There is controversial evidence that Zinc supplements may reduce the incidence of acute respiratory infections in infants and children. But again, this is controversial among researchers.

Essential Trace Mineral

Zinc is an essential trace mineral, so you get it through the foods you eat. Next to iron, zinc is the most common mineral in the body and is found in every cell. It has been used since ancient times to help heal wounds and plays an important role in the immune system, reproduction, growth, taste, vision, and smell, blood clotting, and proper insulin and thyroid function.

Antioxidant Properties

Zinc also has antioxidant properties, meaning it helps protect cells in the body from damage caused by free radicals. Free radicals may contribute to the aging process, as well as the development of a number of health problems, including heart disease and cancer. Antioxidants can neutralize free radicals and may reduce or even help prevent some of the damage they cause.

Your body doesn’t need a large amount of zinc as a supplement if you are consuming a really healthy diet or stressed. The recommended daily MINIMUM from food for adults is 10mg. The MAXIMUM from supplements is 70mg. It’s common to have slightly low levels of zinc, but taking a multivitamin, plus eating a healthy diet, should give you all the zinc you need. THE BEST FOOD IN THE WORLD ARE OYSTERS. They contain 70mg in a serving of 6 whether raw or cooked. The 2nd best is grass fed beef. An 8oz steak will give you around 20mg.

All the above can be started today.

The Long Term Immune plan is below but order some Releev to have on hand. You can get Zovirex at the pharamcy and try that topically as well.
