Serrapeptase is recognised as a safe, natural solution that can provide anti-inflammatory relief within the body for a wide range of health conditions.
Robert Redfern coined the term ‘Miracle Enzyme’ for Serrapeptase when he discovered how powerful it could be for healing people like Mike Tawse who were suffering with painful cerebral palsy symptoms for many years.
By providing natural pain relief for many conditions, Serrapeptase safely digests scars (non-living tissue), blood clots, cysts, fibrin and arterial plaque, and inflammation in all its forms. The inflammation is removed via normal elimination metabolic channels. Once the inflammation is removed, the body can naturally begin healing itself.
However, over the years, many myths have been created that only serve to confuse people about Serrapeptase and its potential healing abilities. Here are just twelve common questions we often get asked…
1) Why do doctors not prescribe Serrapeptase?
Some do. Yet the vast majority of doctors in the West do not because they follow the Pharmaceutical model. So they have no money to make from it. In Germany and Japan, doctors routinely prescribe the Serrapeptase enzyme for its effectiveness in the natural healing process.
2) Is Serrapeptase safe to take while pregnant?
Yes, Serrapeptase is safe to take before, during and after pregnancy. At each stage, Serrapeptase can help you to find relief for inflammation and any painful health conditions you may be experiencing.
Robert’s daughter-in-law has safely used Serrapeptase successfully throughout both of her pregnancies and delivered two healthy children as a result.
3) Will Serrapeptase get me pregnant?
Serrapeptase can support healthy fertility, by clearing blocked fallopian tubes. The Serrapeptase enzyme can help to make fertility conditions more favourable should you be trying for a baby.
4) Who should not take Serrapeptase?
The ‘Miracle Enzyme’ known as Serrapeptase is actually suitable for people of all ages to take. Young and old; men, women, pregnant, or people of all health conditions and disabilities can benefit from taking Serrapeptase.
5) Can Serrapeptase support my mental health?
Serrapeptase can clear inflammation in the body. Inflammation has been linked with depression and other health conditions. There are however, other more potent supplements to consider taking to support mental and emotional health.
Some of these include Lithium Orotate (found in our Lithium Balance product), Sam-e otherwise known as S-adenosyl-L-methionine (SAMe) seems to reduce symptoms of major depression. While Ashwagandha is an Ancient Indian herb that can reduce stress, anxiety and provide natural relief for depression.
6) I’m having heavier periods since taking Serrapeptase. Is this normal?
Serrapeptase helps with clearing inflammation in the body. As a potential side effect, it can result in heavy periods. If you suffer with blocked fallopian tubes, uterine problems, blocked fallopian tubes or fibrosis then the Serrapeptase is clearing the inflammation and dead scar tissue in the process.
This may mean experiencing slightly heavier periods than normal during this time. It is nothing to worry about and is a part of the elimination process. Once the body is clear of inflammation, normal periods should resume.
7) Can I take Serrapeptase if I have surgical mesh in my body?
A surgical mesh is a temporary or permanent measure to provide support for organs and other tissues during surgery. Some people feel scared when they read about how Serrapeptase can dissolve scar tissue and inflammation in the body. So they decide not to take it, out of fear that it will dissolve the mesh too.
This isn’t possible as Serrapeptase won’t affect non-bodily materials such as mesh, but if there is scar tissue holding the mesh in place then it’s not possible to say for certain if this will be affected or not. Therefore, it’s advisable to be cautious in this type of situation.
Generally, Serrapeptase is unique in that it can tell the difference between dead scar tissue that is unrequired and scar tissue that has formed to heal a wound and become an important part of the healing process.
Serrapeptase only goes after EXCESS scar tissue. It doesn’t keep eating away at fibrous tissue that is NEEDED by the body to cover up a wound because that would actually reopen the wound. Endogenous means that it is NEEDED fibrous tissue. Exogenous means that the fibrous tissue is NOT needed and doesn’t belong in your body. Somehow, the enzymes can tell the difference and they only go after the exogenous (not needed) fibrous tissue.
Plus we have never had any reports of surgical implants being disturbed in this way. But this is something to be aware of. And as such we would advise to go for normal doses of the enzyme and not to go up to the mega doses that some people may take.
8) Am I OK to take Serrapeptase if I’m on medications?
Yes, it’s fine to take Serrapeptase if you are on medications and there are no contraindications or adverse side effects. It’s advisable to take Serrapeptase at least an hour away, as with all nutritional supplements and medications.
9) What is the maximum amount of Serrapeptase I can take each day?
There’s no given limit as to the amount of Serrapeptase you can take on a daily basis. However, you may want to build up slowly with the Serra Enzyme. If you have a severe health condition, then taking more is recommended. Once you experience relief, then it’s ideal to reduce to a maintenance dose for best health and wellness long-term.
10) Can Serrapeptase help me to lose weight?
Serrapeptase can’t help you to directly lose weight, but it may support the weight loss process as part of a healthy diet and lifestyle.
11) Will Serrapeptase heal my health condition?
Stating that Serrapeptase can heal a health condition is a big claim. Yes, the enzyme can relieve inflammation which is a MAJOR cause of illness and chronic disease in the body. So Serrapeptase can provide support for the body’s natural healing process. Yet the body naturally begins healing itself once the inflammation is removed.
Serrapeptase has thousands of testimonies from people who are improving their lung health, joint health, cardiovascular health and more…all from taking this simple enzyme.
12) Is Serrapeptase vegan? I’ve heard it was derived from the silkworm intestine?
Yes, originally the Serrapeptase enzyme was derived from the silkworm intestine. However, it is now manufactured in a laboratory using natural state ingredients. It is formed on a fungal base and uses natural nutrient extracts to encourage the processing and growth of the enzyme. No animals involved.
These are some of the most common questions about Serrapeptase that people have on a regular basis. Below is a selection of Serrapeptase products that we recommend as examples.

hi robert. just a quick question here. i am helping a family member with recovery from a heart attack. he was unconscious when taken to hospital and a stent was installed. he is concerned about the stent. i recommended serrapeptase for scar tissue etc. he has been reading up on your products and recommendations and would like to try your serrapeptase but he cannot swallow pills or capsules. he was happy to find a serrapeptase
in a sub-lingual spray. it is called ‘nutra lingual’ – two pumps = 3500 units. he takes much more than that. we are wondering if this is a good product. i had never heard of liquid serrrapeptase and can’t find much info on it re effectiveness. do you know anything about it? and…if it is not worth using can he open the capsules you offer and take the powder with water? thanks so much and kind regards.

Hi Peggy, we would advise to go with the SerraEnzyme product. Open up the capsules and take with either a small amount of non-protein food, such as apple puree, or add to a small amount of water and drink down quickly. This is the best way to achieve more therapeutic dosages, with a quality serrapeptase.

I also take thyroid medication (either levothyroxine or nature-throid). That, too, should be taken on an empty stomach. Can I take the serrapeptase and the thyroid medication together at the same time?? Thanks. (It’s hard to deal with multiple things that say “take on an empty stomach!)
Hi Vicky, Ideally leave a gap of at least an hour between any medications and supplements.

Hi, I have been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis 4 years ago. I’m on immune suppressends as well as anti-TNF drugs. This is helping a little, but is causing side affects. Also taking high doses of supplements. My daughter was on serrapeptase when she was younger for a venous malformation. I helped her a lot. Could you please let me know if I can take it as well as the dosage you recommend. Thank you for your help.
Hi Leony, you can take the SerraEnyzme alongside your medications, that is no problem. Ideally take the Serranol formula which contains serrapeptase, curcumin, vitamin D3 and ecklonia cava, as this works as a powerful anti-inflammatory product.

Hi I have osteoarthritis mainly in my hips. Can Serraeptase help this condition.
I’m on asprin and Bisoprolol for high blood pressure. I don’t like the fact that asprin will negate any regeneration benefits to my cartlidge in my hip joints..Any suggestions will be much appreciated.
Thankyou

Are there serrapeptase eyedrops that can be used for cataracts?
Hello Christine, no there isn’t an eyedrop with serrapeptase in it. The best option is to take it orally, and it will circulate around the body. But for more targeted cataracts help then use the Can-C eye drops as well.

I have a question and have spent so many hours trying to find the answer. I cannot find anywhere where it talks about how long you can take serrapeptase and in fact most things you read make it sound like you should take it until the problem is solved and then quit. I took it for 3 1/2 years and then quit taking it and am now back on it. I started taking it for arthritis pain and inflammation and it worked wonders. It handled a lot more than just the arthritis pain. I quit taking it because I could not find anything on long term usage. I have started taking it again and have only been back on it a few days but once again the pain is getting better. Is there any information on how long you can take it and is it safe to take for years?
There are no long term safety issues for serrapeptase. It has been used therapeutically for over 30 years and during that time no side-effects have been identified. People are using it to target both short-term and long-term health issues, as well as for general health and anti-aging benefits. The serrapeptase enzyme has a short life cycle in the body, 12-24 hours and this is why it is beneficial to take on a regular basis. So continue on as it is really beneficial for arthritis and other inflammatory conditions.
